1. You will be contacted 48 hours prior to your appointment via phone, email or text. We will ask you a set of health-related questions. It is imperative that we complete this questionnaire prior to your appointment. Please brush and floss before you come to your appointment - it is all part of minimizing the virus and microorganism in splatter and aerosol. If you have a mask that you wear when going to the store, please wear it when entering the office. Please bring your own pen just in case any signatures are needed.
2. Upon your arrival to the office please stay in your vehicle and notify us. We will give you a call when we are ready to have you enter our office. We will go over the screening questionnaire again while you wait in your vehicle.
3. Maintain appropriate physical distancing (6 feet or 2 meters) and limit accompanying personnel (cargivers/ parents / guardians) to a maximum of 1 person (if needed). They should wait for you in the car or outside the office. If you do need accompaniment to bring you to your appointment, they also will need to answer the pre appointment screening questions.
4. We have installed plexiguard barriers at all reception areas and removed all non-essential items from the waiting room. That means there will be no magazines, newspaper, and toys.
5. Hand sanitizer will be provided upon entry to the office. Hand sanitizer stations will be available throughout the clinic.
6. Your temperature will be recorded upon entry with a touchless thermometer.
7. You will be provided with an oral rinse before each appointment.
8. All staff are required to hand wash or hand sanitize before and after all appointments.
9. All team members will daily undergo screening for symptoms and temperature measurement.
10. For the time being, your dental hygienist will not be using the ultrasonic scaler and polisher due to the aerosols these instruments create. Your hygiene appointment will consist of hand scaling, fluoride varnish, diagnostic radiographs, and a recall exam.
11. We have installed UV lights to disinfect each treatment room between every patient. The UV lights will disinfect both the airspace and surfaces from ceiling to floor.
12. We have installed UV lights in the washroom to disinfect after each use.
13. A UV chamber is used to disinfect commonly used items in the dental office such as patient safety glasses, bib chains, and touchless thermometer.
14. We have installed True-HEPA air-purifying devices in each treatment room and in the waiting area.
15. Enhanced personal protective equipment (this may include surgical gowns, face shields, scrub caps, and of course mask and gloves), will be worn by our staff when we are delivering treatment by both the doctors and the hygienists. We will look different than last time but we are really smiling underneath!
